After years of rumors and speculation, a high definition Final Fantasy VII remake was announced at E3 2015 for the PlayStation 4. In celebration of the news, we give you some facts about the original Final Fantasy 7.

Final Fantasy VII has sold more than 10 million copies worldwide, making it easily the highest selling Final Fantasy game of all time.

The super bosses Ruby and Emerald Weapon did not appear in the Japanese version of the game but were first added for the North American and European releases. Obviously they thought we could handle the hard stuff.
